Memorial Day Service

The American Legion Post 852 annually sponsors a Memorial Day Service at 10:00 a.m., which is hosted by the District. All residents are encouraged to come and experience this wonderful tribute honoring, not only the many veterans who now rest here, but all veterans who have served our country.

Boy Scout Troop 304 will present the colors, “Battle Hymn of the Republic” will be performed, and “Taps” will be played (live version).

This year’s ceremony, will be held on Memorial Day at the Laurel Cemetery, located on Ivy St., just west of Historic Downtown Murrieta. In memoriam of our Veterans, our community has always come together in support.

This event is also an opportunity for the public to bring “retired” flags for proper disposal. They may be turned in to District staff, who will then forward them to the American Legion or Boy Scouts.

Scout Projects

In years past, many of the local Scout troops have donated time and energy to various projects around the cemetery. The District would like to take this opportunity to thank those whose selfless efforts have enhanced the beauty of our cemetery.
